AI agents: keep control of your data and your costs

• An AI agent that works well is good. An agent you keep control of is better: data, model, cost.

The problem, concretely

When you automate a process with an AI agent, you first think about what the agent does: sort, follow up, extract, answer. That's normal, it's the visible benefit. But three questions come back once the system runs: where is my data? which model runs and at what price? and what if I want to switch provider?

Without clear answers to these three questions, you're building a dependency: your data at the vendor's, an imposed model, a bill that climbs with usage. The agent saves you time, but it costs you freedom.

Keep control: the method

• Data at your place: the database (PostgreSQL/Supabase) lives in your environment, with standard exports. You can leave, your data stays.
• Interchangeable model: the agent calls the AI through a common interface, not a single provider's API. Switching models (Mistral, OpenAI, others) happens without touching the logic.
• Controlled operating cost: an agent in production generally runs for 5 to 30 € a month depending on the volume of calls. It's a bounded variable cost, not a per-seat subscription.
• Code yours: delivered, documented, take-over-ready for your team. You're never blocked at a provider.

What it changes day to day

Concretely: the case-qualification agent processes 500 cases in minutes where a person spends two days. Supervision stays human, in a dashboard you control. And if in a year you want to switch AI model, or take the agent back in-house, it's possible, because nothing stops you.
