Why Cloudflare: low latency everywhere in the world, controlled costs, and a single provider for compute, storage and AI. My default when global speed or cost matters.
Observed orders of magnitude: for 1 TB of files served every month, R2 costs around twenty euros where S3 exceeds 90 € because of egress. A Worker starts with no measurable cold start, while a Lambda can take several hundred milliseconds cold.
